Inspire – High potential and gifted education

At Cabramatta West Public School, every learner’s potential is our priority. We are committed to noticing and nurturing Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) students as an essential part of our school community and culture. We understand that every student has unique strengths and talents, and we work to recognise these early, providing tailored learning opportunities to support their growth.

Our approach focuses on meeting the diverse needs of gifted learners across four key areas: intellectual, creative, social-emotional, and physical development. Through thoughtful school planning and inclusive classroom practices, we strive to create an environment where gifted and talented students are challenged, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential in all aspects of their learning journey.

We believe that supporting HPGE students enriches not only those learners but our entire school community by fostering a culture of high expectations, creativity, and curiosity. By working closely with families and continually developing our staff skills, Cabramatta West Public School is committed to providing programs and support that meet the unique needs of every student.

What is high potential and gifted education?

Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.

We do this through:

Intellectual

Intellectual domain – a child's natural ability to understand, think through problems, learn new information, and apply learning.

Physical

Physical domain – a child's natural ability with movement, coordination, and control of the body.

Creative

Creative domain – a child's natural ability to imagine new ideas, invent things, and think in original ways.

Social-Emotional

Social-emotional domain – a child's natural ability to manage feelings and interact positively with others.
